Michelle East, CEO and Founder, Certainty Compliance and RTA Advisory Committee Member

Michelle began her financial services career in investment services at Perpetual Trustees. At Westpac Banking Corporation, she held dealing and product management positions before moving to risk management responsible for compliance, credit and operational risk frameworks. As a project manager and then Head of Strategy, she was responsible for developing strategy and implementing change programs in the Investment Bank.

Pivoting to the entrepreneurial life, Michelle founded a consultancy implementing risk and treasury systems for banks, a compliance licensing consultancy and has now combined her passion for compliance and technology as founder of Certainty Compliance. As founder lead of The RegTech Association, Michelle is seeking out RegTech founders for collaboration and partnership as we build a strong ecosystem and corporate resilience.

Michelle contributes to the development of financial services industry standards and works with regulators, government and industry bodies on regulatory issues.

Michelle is available as compliance committee member, speaker and workshop facilitator.

Jennifer Mackinlay, Senior Trade Commissioner, UK, Ireland and Nordics, Austrade

Jennifer Mackinlay is the Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner for the United Kingdom, Ireland and the Nordics. She was formerly posted to Paris where she was the Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner for France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and Luxembourg from 2015 to 2019. Having lived in France for almost 20 years, Jennifer has a deep knowledge of European markets and doing business in Europe. Jennifer also leads the Defence, Advanced Manufacturing and Space sector for Europe within Austrade.

Prior to joining Austrade in 2015, Jennifer worked as a lawyer for international law firm Clifford Chance in Paris for 15 years, specialising in Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity. From 2010-2015, Jennifer was director for client development, marketing and communications with responsibility for France, Turkey and Africa.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney. She was admitted as a lawyer to the Supreme Court of NSW in 1994 and admitted as a French 'avocat' to the Paris bar in 2003. She completed the Defence Industry Study Course in 2018. She speaks French, Italian and Spanish.

Deborah Young, CEO, The RegTech Association

Deborah Young is the founding CEO of The RegTech Association. Deborah has more than 20 years experience in financial services advocacy and engagement across technology, venture capital, private equity, financial markets, insurance and superannuation. She is passionate about building a community that accelerates deployment of technology that drives productivity and superior consumer outcomes. Deborah is a member of the Federal Government’s FinTech Advisory Committee and in 2019 was awarded an AFR 100 Women of Influence Award for Innovation.

Sian Lewin, Co-Founder and Head of Client Delivery Director at RegTech Associates, Founder of RegTech Women

At RegTech Associates, Sian works with technology clients to help them refine, grow and scale their RegTech products and companies and with regulated firms to ensure they select the solutions that meet their regulatory needs. She leads the research and content generation activities. Sian is a recognised expert and influencer in RegTech and financial regulation and is featured on the Innovate Finance Women in FinTech Powerlist of 2019.

Prior to joining RegTech Associates, she was awarded a PhD from the London School of Economics. Her systematic research explored the challenges faced by banks in dealing with the volume and speed of regulatory change following the 2008 financial crisis. She has more than 20 years of experience in helping large financial institutions such as JP Morgan, UBS and RBS build their regulatory strength in response to regulatory requirements.

Richard Rosenholtz, Chair, Nordic RegTech Association

Richard is the RegTech leader in the Nordic region and in 2017 he started the Stockholm RegTech Meetup Group that now have more than 400 members. In 2018 he founded the Nordic RegTech Association, NRTA, which he now is the Chairman and Managing Director of. Since 2019 Richard has been the Regtech Track Lead for the STHLM FinTech week and he is a frequent speaker at other Tech events

Richard have previously worked at SEB, Nordea, Skandia Insurance and as a consultant in the Nordics as well as in the UK. He is currently the Managing Partner at Howart Compliance Sweden where he works with clients on how to operationally achieve long term sustainable risk and compliance management through the use of new technology.
